Desk to get $70k revamp

THE Southern Downs Regional Council plans to change its Warwick customer service area through a $70,000 reorganisation.

CEO Rod Ferguson said the changes would create more space in the Warwick downstairs customer service centre to centralise all telephone and counter customer service officers.

"At the moment the customer service function is spread across the building," he said.

"With these changes the whole team will be near each other, enhancing the delivery of customer service as the team will be able to work more cohesively."

The customer service area will be built out, creating more offices behind the counter, with the project due to start in April and expected to take six weeks.

"During this time, we will relocate our customer service area to one of our other facilities in Warwick," Mr Ferguson said.

"The location will be announced as soon as we finalise negotiations."

The council is also doing a survey of residents about service levels.

Residents are encouraged to complete the survey online at southerndowns.qld.gov.au before March 30.
