Dedicated carer living her dream

CARE is in her DNA and it's why Danielle Milligan travels countless kilometres to ensure the region's vulnerable are getting just that.

Churches of Christ Care's Community Care team leader Ms Milligan travels hundreds of kilometres every week across Stanthorpe and surrounds to provide nursing care, support and assistance.

She adores her role supporting seniors in the Southern Downs and Granite Belt to live independently at home.

"I love helping people, spending time with them and making somebody's life a little bit easier,” Danielle said.

Danielle completed her training as an enrolled nurse in 2014 and community care is her passion.

"Our community service is person-centred, which means it's all about the person's needs, wants and choices.

"It can take a lot of pressure off families to have support, and it's good to know people feel they can trust us.

"Sometimes allowing somebody you don't know into your home can be daunting, but we offer reassurance and get to know people and their families.”

The Community Care service supports almost 180people in the Granite Belt. The Community Care office will be based at Warwick when it opens.
