Czech TV Journo chases Coast skydiver out of a plane

CZECH TV journalists on the hunt for a killer story yesterday chased Landsborough man Tibor Glesk out of a plane.

The television station tracked down Mr Glesk in their search for interesting former Czech citizens who were now living outside of Europe.

It was the kind of chase Mr Glesk managed to avoid when he fled communist Czechoslovakia in 1987, but this time, he said, he was more than willing for an interrogation.

The journalists knew more about him than he did, the skydiving instructor joked, so he invited them to live a day in his life. They started with a surf and finished with a couple of skydives.

"Anything is possible here in Australia," Mr Glesk said.

WHAT'S MAKING NEWS ON THE COAST TODAY

"It's the best country in the world. I'm so happy."

The television station is creating a travel show to encourage people to explore outside of Europe.

Mr Glesk said he hoped it would inspire more Czech people to be courageous and follow their dreams.

"It is an ex-communist country, so it's getting to be free, like here, but people are still not so open to chasing their dreams," he said.

"A lot of people, smart people, they have great dreams but they hold themselves back instead of taking that big decision."
