Custody for two after assault

TWO men are in custody in the Warwick watchhouse this morning after an overnight assault at the John Dee abattoir on Rosehill Rd.

Police said the two males, aged 24 and 22, had been waiting outside the abattoir for two male workers to finish their shift. The two employees were assaulted with a broom handle and threatened with a knife, with one receiving a cut to the head and bruising to both.

They were treated at Warwick Hospital for their injuries. The incident took place at about 10.45pm and two males charged with assault are due to appear in the Warwick Magistrates Court later today.
