Cricket association seeks teams

NOMINATIONS are needed for the Warwick Cricket Association (WCA) 2010-2011 season.

Teams for A and reserve grades are needed by Wednesday night's annual general meeting at the Condamine Sports Club.

Mick Bourke is happy to accept nominations on 0419120998.

Nominations for positions within WCA are also required to be submitted, so be prepared to support your community and the sport of cricket.

A WCA spokesman said success during the past couple of years from both Warwick Davis and Mitchell Shield Bulls representative sides had been encouraging.

“That success starts with a strong local competition. In recent years, the association has expanded to include teams from Allora, Killarney and Inglewood as well as a strong Indigenous team lead by local sporting hero Shane Hooper,” he said.

Junior sign on

BOYS and girls have a second chance on Monday to register for the new Warwick junior cricket season.

The sign-on is from 3.30pm to 5.30pm at Slade Park.

Players can participate in In2Cricket (5-7 years), under 10, U12, U14 and U16 age groups.

In2Cricket is held on Thursday nights at the Warwick hockey grounds and play in all other age groups is held on Saturdays during summer, excluding school holidays.

Inquiries to Paul Gordon on 0427583871.
