AS soon as Fee Welch unwrapped her sister's childhood doll Sadi, the whole family fell sick.

While it could just be a coincidence, the horror movie lover (pictured) said she couldn't help but wonder if something more sinister was at play.

"That's when it got spooky," the Rockhampton woman said.

The old doll has spent the last few years tucked away in Fee's wardrobe.

"A friend of mine was helping me clean out my walk-in robe when she found her," she said.

"She was like 'what the hell is this'. I was going to throw her out but my husband said I should keep her."

Hoping to find out more information about the unusual toy, Fee posted a photo of Sadi on a Facebook page last week.

To her surprise she received an overwhelming response, with close to 400 comments posted.

Many people suggested it was haunted; others compared it to the famous movie character Chucky.

The post generated so much traffic it overloaded the system and had to be taken down.

"The majority of people it creeped out," Fee laughed.

Fee said her mother bought the doll in Biloela about 40 years ago.

"She was never a cosy doll," she said.

With black curly hair and dark piercing eyes, Fee said she had never seen anything like her.

"I asked my six-year-old daughter what she thought of her," she said.

"All she said was weird. My 13-year-old son wants me to chop her up and get rid of her ASAP."

She said if someone wanted to make an offer to buy Sadi she would consider it.

But for now, she will hold on to the family toy and try to stay on her good side.
