Cowboy handed JRL role
Rugby League: North Queensland Cowboys star Ethan Lowe has been named Warwick and District Junior Rugby League's 2018 ambassador.
The former Goondiwindi Junior Rugby League player said he was excited to support grassroots rugby league in his area and give back to the community and region that helped mould him into the player he is today.
"I grew up and played my junior rugby league years in Goondiwindi, so to be given the opportunity to be an ambassador for the sport in my home town and region is something I'm really looking forward to," Ethan said.
League chairman Dave Landers welcomed the news. "I hope that his support and profile will help show other young players in the district what can be achieved with a lot of hard work and dedication,'' he said.
"Ethan is a fine example for our junior players in the region."
Other high-profile products from the Warwick & District region area that have reached the pinnacle in rugby league include the likes of Mick Hancock (Stanthorpe Juniors), Billy Moore (Tenterfield Juniors) and Shane Webcke (Wattles Juniors) and Stephanie Hancock (Eastern Suburbs).
