Coronavirus QLD: Everything you need to know today

Queensland continues to smash the coronavirus curve with no new cases again recorded today, leaving the state's tally at 1,033 cases of which 943 have recovered.

And in other good news, nearly 550 jobs will be generated in Queensland as the Federal Government injects $50 million into hundreds of manufacturing projects across the country to help with the national recovery from COVID-19.

Meanwhile, in one of the first JobKeeper-related unfair dismissal claims before a court, a woman has launched an unfair dismissal claim against a Gold Coast plastic surgery that has made her redundant, claiming the practice applied for JobKeeper payments for other staff.

A woman has praised Bundaberg Hospital's world-class care, after suffering life-threatening novel coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms that required a lengthy stay in the Intensive Care Unit.
She said: "I didn't know I was so close (to death) until I was told afterwards that they believed I only had a 25-30% chance of surviving (when I entered the ICU)."

A coronavirus cure could be in mass production sooner than expected with a breakthrough by Queensland scientists now meaning a vaccine could be available in months.

But we'll need that vaccine sooner rather than later with the news that COVID-19 could spread faster in winter.

One Australian state has been described as the "safest place in the world" after recording no new virus cases for the past week.

They're unproven cures for COVID-19, but that hasn't stopped a massive spike in attempts to buy drugs advocated by US President Donald Trump, new data has shown.

And a local pub has been shut down in England after police found drinkers "hiding in cupboards" during the coronavirus lockdown.
