Workers strike at Grand Central redevelopment

Kevin Farmer

WORKERS have taken strike action on the redevelopment of Grand Central shopping centre in Toowoomba.

Probuild project director Mick Tully said the "isolated" work stoppages were occurring across different shifts.

Mr Tully said they involved workers represented by several different unions.

"They involve certain people in certain areas," he said.

Mr Tully said work continued at the construction site.

"We were still working last night and we will be still working tonight," he said.

Mr Tully did not provide any other details on the work stoppages.

The Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union has been contacted for comment.
