Come from behind win

DIRRANBANDI rider John Hoath was 27th into the arena to record a score of 85 in the final to win the Supafloats Canning Downs Campdraft.

With the final moved to Sunday on a trial basis rather than the usual Saturday afternoon timeslot, Hoath went into the final on 178 points, one behind leader Steve Comiskey, of Capella, riding Pussyfoot.

Charters Towers campdrafter Peter Glenwright was first into camp to score 88 on Jackson for a third-round score of 261 and had the lead before Tamworth rider Dick Northcott moved to 262 on Drumora Radiant.

Rydal rider Nigel Kable had 262 on both Chevin Ivory and Sandy as the lead was shared three ways before Hoath took the lead with only three riders to go.

Glenwright finished fifth and Comiskey sixth after scoring 80 in the final on Pussyfoot for a total of 259.

Jim Daley riding Westons Yakka and Paul Pownall on Tecoma Magic were equal seventh.
