MAUGAN Benn carried his bat with 74 not out to steer Warwick Hotel Colts to an A-grade premiership win at Slade Park on Saturday.
At the presentations Colts captain Shaun O'Leary acknowledged it was a good toss to win.
"There was life in the wicket for the first 12 overs we bowled and then it settled down," O'Leary said.
After being sent in to bat, Maryvale was 5-41 in the 20th over before Jason Steketee, 32, and Michael Bourke, 22, added 42 in 10 overs.
Bourke and Mitch Siebenhausen added 28 before Maryvale was all out for 130.
Don Miller took 4-20 off 7.2 overs and Rod Hansen 3-13 off eight overs.
Colts were 3-46 before John Cleary joined Benn and the pair added 63.
Cleary was bowled by Mark Steketee for 28 but Benn took control to hit eight fours in 74.
The Steketee brothers were the best bowlers, Mark with 2-32 and Jason 2-36, both off seven overs.
Benn won the Tom and Margaret Walsh Medal for player of the final.
O'Leary rated Benn's innings as his best in five years.
