Cocktails bring the wow factor
SIX months of research has gone into perfecting the Apple and Grape Ball's first cocktail menu.
"We want something different, we want something people can't buy at the bars,” bar manager Kerry Howe said.
"Not only will the people enjoy drinking them and having fun with them, we'll have fun making them.”
Ms Howe trialled different drinks for six months to ensure there was something for everyone, including mocktails.
"You've got so many different people coming from all different areas of life so one group of cocktails won't suit everybody.
"You've got to make that medium that the young and old will enjoy”
Ms Howe said her favourite drink was the Cookie Monster, a combination of flavoured vodkas and ice-cream which appear like the Cookie Monster.
"He's so cute and we're going to have good fun with him.”
She said most of fruits and garnishes used in the cocktails were sourced from local farmers.
She said the cocktails were a way to tie together the overall feel of the event.
"If you're going get dressed in a beautiful dress and be accompanied by a nice partner I think you need to have that 'wow' factor.”
