Climbing off radar into top six

LESS than six months ago, the Warwick Ranbuild franchise wasn't even on the radar for the national chain.

But when office manager Glen O'Brien stepped in, it only took a matter of months before the Rose City shed-building business was being recognised as the sixth best of the national chain.

"The Warwick franchise hasn't been in the 100 top ones for a few years," he said.

Mr O'Brien said there were at least a couple of hundred Ranbuild franchises in the country, and making a spot in the top 10 was pretty coveted.

"We have turned it around and it's only been a few months," he said.

Mr O'Brien said the success in turning it around had been due to clear strategies formed and put in place by the whole team.

"Everyone has ownership," he said.

He said the business was left with some issues and it was taking time to get back on track.

"We are still working through that now," he said.

Mr O'Brien said they had gone a step further to expand the business, adding building supplies and sheeting to their products.

Despite the success so far, Mr O'Brien said the team was still working to improve the business and he hoped they would top their number six spot next year, and was not counting out their chances of taking number one.

"Well hopefully," he said.
