Climbers face court

TWO men who grew tired of indoor rock climbing and instead scaled the walls of Warwick State High School have appeared in court.

Samuel Leigh Warren and Troy Anthony Christensen, both 21, were fined in the Warwick Magistrates Court this week over the incident.

The court heard the two men were spotted on the roof of the school on February 4.

Police spoke with the men, who said they had an interest in climbing and were bored with traditional climbing structures.

The men each pleaded guilty to one charge of trespass and one of engaging in unregulated, high-risk activities.

Neither Christensen nor Warren had a previous criminal history, which the court heard could be detrimental to their military aspirations.

They were each placed on a $300 good behaviour bond.

No convictions were recorded.
