Clay Dawson: From chubby teen to Brisbane Marathon winner
ONCE a chubby teenager, but now 43kg lighter, Rosewood State High teacher Clay Dawson took out first place in Sunday's Brisbane Marathon to continue a remarkable tale.
Previously weighing in at 116kg, Dawson has whittled his weight down to 73kg after undergoing a personal revolution.
A market research survey in which he was categorised as 'obese' and a broken bike at his gym were the spurs to Clay taking up running in his twenties after a previous reluctance to exercise.

"I went to university with a guy who ran 10km a day and I just didn't understand how it was possible in those days," Dawson said.
