City boys grab three points in home win

CITY v TENTERFIELD:

DUE to a number of player absences the Fillies and Senior Colts games were both played as friendly matches with teams mixed and no scores kept.

Both games were played in good spirits with the kids having a bit of fun playing against some of their team-mates.

In the Junior Colts, City came out with a strong effort in the first half and were in control of the game at half time. The second half was a closer match but in the end City was too strong on the day and came away with a much needed win.

The Ladies game was a much closer affair with the only goal in the first half coming from the boot of City's striker, Katy.

Both teams came out in the second half wanting to take control of the game, with plenty of chances.

In the end the City Ladies held on to half-time lead to take a solid 1-0 victory.

In the last match of the day the City men came out and jumped to an early lead and controlled the first half by putting away every opportunity they were given.

Tenterfield's defence was much better in the second half but they could not find a way to break the City defensive line.

The boys in orange finished on top with a 5-0 win.
