Chilly and wet weather ahead

IT'S gumboot weather in the Granite Belt this weekend with showers continuing through Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures are set to drop well below the October average with a maximum of 14 degrees on Saturday and 17 degrees on Sunday and lows of 10 for both days.

North of town has an 80 per cent chance of showers on Saturday, with falls of 8-15mm possible.

The rest of the region has a 50 per cent chance of showers with a possible thunderstorm in the morning.

On Sunday, expect a shower or two with 2-8mm expected to fall.

Winds are predicted to reach up to 35km/h on both days.

Residents are advised to watch the Bureau of Meteorology rain radar as severe storm warnings continue throughout Queensland over the weekend.

Ensure all backyard furniture is secure and enjoy the downpour as it continues.
