FIVE Warwick Swimming Club members will represent Darling Downs at Queensland school swimming championships in the next week.
Dimity Brackin and Michael Coleman (Assumption College) will compete in the secondary school championships which start today at Chandler.
Brackin qualified for the 14 years 50m and 100m freestyle, 50m and 100m butterfly and will swim for Darling Downs in freestyle and medley relays.
A breaststroke specialist, Coleman will compete in 13 years 50m and 100m breaststroke and medley relay.
The primary school state championships will start at Chandler on Sunday.
Kelsey Hoger (Warwick West) qualified in the 12 years age group in 50m and 100m breaststroke, freestyle and medley relays.
After competing for the region for the first time last year, Ella Hudson (St Mary's) qualified for the 11 years 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle.
Seamus Ryan ( Warwick Christian College) will compete in his first state championships in the 50m and 100m breaststroke and medley relay in 11 years age group.
Warwick Swimming Club president Ross Brackin was delighted with its representation in regional teams.
"The five train between four and six sessions a week," Ross said.
"They are up against children who train up to 11 sessions a week - one girl in the 14 years age group came ninth in butterfly at the Olympic trials last week and is likely to swim in the secondary school championships.
"The goal of our swimmers is to make finals; a medal will be a bonus."
