Central players excel

SEVEN Central Downs netballers impressed selectors at the Southern Downs primary school trials held in Warwick last week.

Six of the nine players selected in the Southern Downs Under 11 Netball team were from the Central Downs team, which consisted of players from schools in the Clifton/Allora district.

Those selected were: Sophie Otten and Mary Higgins, St Patrick's, Allora; Lucy Mantova and Olivia Sipple, Clifton State School; and Brianna Meacle and Keely McGrath, St Francis de Sales, Clifton,

In the 12 years team, Maddison Burton, from Central Downs, was selected.

The girls will now contest the Darling Downs Regional Primary Schools Netball Carnival and trials in Toowoomba on April 19.
