Cash, drugs seized in raid

ECSTASY and amphetamine tablets worth at least $10,000 were found along with a stash of cannabis and $22,000 in cash during a police drug raid at Wheatvale west of Warwick yesterday.

Detectives from the Warwick Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and the Brisbane drug quad executed a search warrant at a small property and arrested and charged a 39-year-old man with trafficking in dangerous drugs and possessing money believed to be the proceeds of drug supply.

He was also charged with possessing instructions for making amphetamines.

A CIB spokesman said the man was on bail for other offences and was taken into custody, with a court appearance due today.

Around 300 tablets were located in his possession.

Other raids in Warwick yesterday resulted in a 60-year-old woman being charged with cannabis possession and a 26-year-old male being charged with possessing a drug utensil, with his 26-year-old female partner ordered to undergo a drug diversion program.

A 48-year-old man was also charged with cannabis production.

All are due to appear in the Warwick Magistrates Court in March.
