Businesses celebrated: Postponed awards event fast approaching

THE business community certainly need a little pick me up and next Saturday’s Business Excellence Awards could be just the pill they need.

The biennial event has been a long time coming, initially set down for September 14.

Early September’s bushfires forced a reschedule of the Stanthorpe and Granite Belt Chamber of Commerce event.

At a time when businesses have been closing at an alarming rate, chamber‘s Amanda Harrold said it’s important to reflect on the successes, not the negatives.

“I think people need to look back and realise how hard they’ve worked and what they’ve put into their businesses and not be afraid to stand up and say ‘this is what I have achieved’.

“Especially at times like this, we need to stand together.

“I hope the community realise what great businesses we have here and supports them.”
