Warwick business hit three times

IN what is the third time this year Leonard’s Trading Store have had hassles with vandals, armed robbers or thieves, they have been broken into again.

Thankfully this time just the contents of the till were stolen, however owner Donna Hardy admitted she has had enough.

“What was scarier was there was no forced entry, they’ve picked the lock on the back door,” Mrs Hardy said.

“They’ve jimmied the cash register with a screwdriver.”

About $185 was stolen from the float, and Mrs Hardy said while the till was damaged she luckily had a new one on the way.

“We’ll put more security on the locks but if they really want to get in, they will break a window,” she said.

On New Year’s Eve a rock was thrown in the front window of the shop and in late January a staff member was held up at knife-point during an attempted robbery.

A Warwick Police spokesman said the damage was discovered yesterday morning, and said officers would continue investigations.
