Build-up starts for horse trials

JUST as one weekend of eventing has concluded, organisation starts for the next one, the Warwick Horse Trials Club event on May 18-19.

President Paul Charlton said the club was hoping for between 175 and 200 entries.

"The top class will be three-star in one-day eventing," Charlton said.

"It will be a one-day event run over two days."

Dressage and some showjumping will be on the Saturday with cross country and the balance of the showjumping on the second day.

Between 30 and 40 members of the Warwick Horse Trials Club competed at the weekend in the National Farmers Warehouse International Queensland One-day Event at Morgan Park.

The club has many members from east of the Great Dividing Range, including Australian representative Kevin McNab and 2004 Olympian Rebel Morrow.

Competition will start each day at 8am with entertainment at the grounds on the Saturday night.

Volunteers are needed for the May event and can call Charlton on 4681 1575
