Brisbane police officer stood down

A 38-year-old male Senior Constable from Brisbane Region has today been stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service.

It is alleged the officer is subject of an investigation regarding allegations he:

  • Used excessive use of force;
  • Inappropriately exercised police powers whilst off duty and on sick leave, and
  • Failed to comply with obligations imposed under the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000.

In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces allegations of serious misconduct.
