
Police hunt for driver who fled from crash
UPDATE 4.35pm: A man has fled from the scene of a crash at Bakers Creek on Thursday afternoon.
Witnesses say the man fled from a ute with a dog and a skateboard.
The driver collided with another ute on the intersection of the Bruce Hwy and Gorman St.
The second ute slammed through a fence of a private residents and came to rest in a children's play area.
Luckily there were no children in the yard at the time of the crash.
Paramedics took two men from one ute to Mackay Base Hospital.
UPDATE 3.48pm: Two utes have collided on the Bruce Hwy at Bakers Creek with one driver still trapped in the car.
Two QFES crews are attempting to free the man, with two ambulance crews on standby.
The Bruce Hwy remains open despite the serious crash on the intersection of the Bruce Hwy and Gorman St.

Emergency crews have been at the scene since 3.15pm.
INITIAL: A DRIVER involved in a two-vehicle crash at Baker Creek is believed to be trapped.

The crash happened about 3.15pm, and paramedics and QFES crews were called after reports one of the cars had run into a fence and the driver was trapped.
According to a QAS spokeswoman, the crash happened on the Bruce Hwy at the intersection of Gorman St.
