Boxer's quest for title

WARWICK boxer Shane Parry will fight Stan Mizner for the vacant Global Boxing Association Australian light heavyweight title at Kings at the Warwick RSL on Saturday night.

Shane's father and trainer Rodd Parry said nine fights were already organised.

"We will be organising more matches during the week and on Saturday night," Rodd said.

Shane has won three state and one national title and goes into the fight with the Queensland light heavyweight title to his credit.

He will easily be under the maximum weight of 81kg for the March 31 fight.

Mizner will be 5kg heavier than Shane but the trainer is not concerned.

"He has fought heavier boys and with his experience, he handles it. He spars heavyweights so can mix it with heavier boxers."

Tickets are for sale at the Warwick RSL. Cost is $15 for adults if pre-purchased and $20 on the night. Children's tickets are $5, children under seven free.
