Boozy brawlers warned

WARWICK Show revellers are being warned to be on their best behaviour during the long weekend, with extra police officers out in force.

Senior Constable Darren Black yesterday said extra crews had been enlisted to cope with any anti-social behaviour but police were not expecting any major issues.

"Everything has been pretty quiet so far," he said.

"I think the Warwick Show is known for pretty good behaviour but we always get some alcohol-related violence," he said.

"Extra police will be on hand to take care of those situations."

Show-goers who plan to celebrate the long weekend with a few drinks are urged to ensure they do not drink-drive.

"We advise those planning on a big weekend to be mindful of their behaviour and make sure they have a lift sorted out," Snr Const Black said.

Tips for a safe night out include making sure you set aside some cash for a taxi, head out with a designated driver and, of course, drink in moderation.
