HAVEN of Obedience is one of those "if you like Shades of Grey try this" books.

It is about sex, pure and not necessarily simple.

There's not a great deal of plot or character development, but that's not what the book is about.

Only about 10 pages or so in the entire novel don't have some aspect of sex in them.

It's particularly graphic and the clue to the story is pretty obvious from the title.

Haven of Obedience centres on 20-something Natalie Bowen.

She's a successful magazine publisher but her private life is a bit of a mess.

Men find her a bit dominating, relationships don't last, and she's not satisfied.

Then her best friend becomes a bit distant.

Eventually she confesses to Natalie that she's spent a week at an exclusive retreat called "The Haven" where she learnt all about receiving and giving pleasure, and now she, and other Haven graduates are having a wild old time at their own parties.

Natalie's a bit shocked, but finally decides to book into The Haven.

Her tutor is the enigmatic and disciplined Simon.

He leads her through a series of sexual adventures about submission and discipline that I would imagine are definitely X rather than R-rated.

He knows how to get what he wants but is she wrong to think the seductive Simon feels something for her beyond that of pupil and teacher?

Haven of Obedience is clearly written without any unnecessary fluff and if you're after a dangerous, sexy read, go for it.

But be warned. Though I'm no expert on ratings, if it were a film, I'm guessing Haven of Obedience would have an X rating.

If graphic sex shocks, then don't go there.
