Bomb-proof G20 limousine taken out by truck
THE bomb-proof limousines hired for the G20 summit can withstand firepower from an AK47 assault rifle and are fitted with nail-proof tyres.
But it seems they cannot withstand the force of a standard commercial truck.
One of the S600 Guard limousines provided by German car maker Mercedes-Benz for the world leaders' summit in Brisbane has been rendered "out of action after being rear-ended by a truck.
Fairfax Media understands the limousine was hit by a commercial truck on Wednesday afternoon.
"There were two people involved in the incident and one was taken to hospital as a precaution," G20 organisers said in a statement.
No visiting dignitary or member of an international G20 delegation was in the limousine at the time.
