Blues trio hit theatre

THE Dog Wood Three have just spent the last winter (and then some) recording and completing their first self-titled record, The Dog Wood Three.

The trio that calls the cold climate mountains of Stanthorpe home consists of Ray Luhrmann, Ceccy Van Heumen and Grant Thornton.

"The band are happy to announce that the record is finished and we will be performing the album on September 29 at the Stanthorpe Little Theatre from 7.30pm with friend and guest Trent McNamara, of Heartworn Highway, supporting,” Ceccy Van Heumen said.

"The new record is an independent release that has 11 songs telling of country living, loves won and lost and life on the road.

"If you listen closely there's sure to be characters, places and feelings you've known and felt.

"These folk tales and hillbilly blues are about real people with real lives and are delivered with a raw power that you can't ignore.”

The group say they're at home playing in pubs, parties, theatres, wineries, art galleries, on hippy communities, for community benefits and for any good cause.

They have a long history of playing and travelling this planet together and love to share their music.

"The group are looking forward to getting back on the road to promote the new release and airing the songs to new audiences and fans,” Ceccy said.

Tickets:

Tickets for the September 29 show are available at the Stanthorpe Newsagency, cnr Maryland and Railway St. CDs will be available for purchase at the show.
