Big screen a big hit
THE big screen was a major hit with the crowd at the first night of rough stock and timed events at the Warwick Rodeo on Thursday.
Each ride was replayed on the big screen, including footage from the chutes, which spectators don’t see unless they were in the front row above the chutes.
The footage on the screen also showed just how the rope landed or almost landed on the heads of the stock in the junior breakaway roping.
Commentator John Skinner explained the finer points of many of the performances as the footage was being replayed.
While the events were on, the screen had many of the logos of the sponsors on screen, businesses which make events like the most famous rodeo in Australia happen.
The quality of the footage was as good as what might be seen on the big screens at Suncorp Stadium or the Gabba.
The screen was positioned on the south east corner of the arena and in full view of each stand.
Anyone who misses a top ride, perhaps due to chatting with someone, now has the chance to see it replayed on the big screen and in the dark of night, the big screen was sensational on Thursday.
