Big month for Probus club

AUGUST has been a busy and exciting month for Stanthorpe Probians. Early this month 28 members attended the annual regional luncheon held at Beaudesert this year.

Probians from Mt Tambourine, Rose City, Warwick, Stanthorpe and of course the host club Beaudesert attended the luncheon. The Scenic Rim Shire Council donated a welcome gift to each of the 170 members present.

It was a great opportunity navy to meet fellow Probians from other towns and also gain valuable information on functions and activities of other clubs. A very enjoyable day for everyone.

Last week 26 members travelled to the Lyric Theatre in Brisbane to see the very popular musical Beautiful, the life story of composer and singer Carol King. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the outstanding performance of the entire cast with some dancing and singing, many beautiful songs written by Carol King from when she was only 16 years of age. Learning her life story added to the concert but it also brought tears to many eyes. It was a very enjoyable day from when we started travelling our driver Greg brought our attention to some of the scenic highlights many members were not aware of. His congeniality added to the day.
