Beloved artist on display once again
THE Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery will put on another exhibition, featuring the works of two talented artists.
The exhibition, which opens on Thursday, will focus on the theme of nature and feature the works of Marcel Desbiens and the late Elspeth Cameron.
The main exhibition of Marcel Desbiens' oil paintings provides an ideal representation of beauty based on various elements from nature.
From the beach to the red centre, Marcel Desbiens investigates the botanical beauty of this diverse continent.
The Gallery is also delighted to present a retrospective of Elspeth Cameron's work.
A much loved local artist and valued member of the gallery and the Stanthorpe community, Elspeth's passing earlier this year was a great loss to all who knew her.
Elspeth's delicate and detailed watercolours show a boundless curiosity and enjoyment of nature. Her works show a true celebration of life.
Many people have loaned work for the exhibition and there will also be previously unseen paintings on display.
The exhibition can be viewed until Sunday, November 13.
This will be the first exhibition for new gallery director Mary Findlay, who is excited for the display
"Marcel Desbiens is a very well known artist and to have someone of his calibre and a local person, is just a great way for me to start my appointment as director of the art gallery," she said.
