Bellingham Mazda sells to Wippells
AN industry source confirmed yesterday Southern Downs Mayor Ron Bellingham has sold his Warwick Mazda dealership to a Toowoomba-based company.
The future of Bellingham Mazda has been the subject of car yard scrutiny for months, but insiders confirmed the business has been bought by the family-owned Wippells Autos.
Staff at both enterprises have been informed of the development, with Rose City employees assured they will retain their jobs under the new owners.
It is understood Wippells Autos, who are dealers for Mazda, Subaru, Proton and Volkswagen in Toowoomba, will take over the Freestone Road dealership in early January.
Mayor Bellingham was unavailable for comment yesterday.
