Ballandean sets up grand final battle with City foes

Senior Colts

COMING into the game having enjoyed vastly different outcomes on major semi-final day, this tie was anyone's for the taking.

United had started the season with minimal player numbers and did well to make it to the preliminary final.

Ballandean started the game with control of possession, while United sat back, absorbed the pressure and tried to counter when opportunity arose.

United was strong across the park, with the back line thwarting Ballandean's attempts, leaving them to try to shoot from range.

United's Kobi Jones and Ballandean's Brayden Spiller had an exciting battle in the middle of the park.

The game hung on a knife's edge until Anika Spiller shot from close range, hitting the cross bar, as the linesman flagged it had bounced over the line.

That goal was all that separated the two sides, with Ballandean now set to face City, who beat the Reds in the major semi-final.
