Backpackers cause disturbance at Southern Downs venue

BACKPACKERS began creating a disturbance at the Central Hotel on Saturday night after bouncers refused them entry.

One man attempted to re-enter the hotel and was later found drinking alcohol in public, so he was fined $730 by police.

Later in the evening, police again attended the hotel where another man had been denied entry and refused to move on.

He was fined $1462.
