Baby suffers brain damage after alleged serious assault
A MAN on a flight back to QLD from WA has been arrested for allegedly seriously assaulting a baby in July.
On July 20 police were notified after a four-month-old baby girl was transported from her Serin Street home to the Gold Coast University Hospital for the treatment of serious injuries after she became unresponsive.
She was taken to a hospital in Brisbane where she remains with very serious brain injuries.
A 39-year-old man of no fixed place of abode has been charged with grievous bodily harm and is due to face Southport Magistrates Court today.
