TYRONE Joel Santo hurled abuse at Magistrate Damien Dwyer and his defence barrister Phillip Moore in Mackay Magistrates Court yesterday.

The 24-year-old Mackay man appeared in custody on one count each of going armed so as to cause fear; fail to dispose of needle and syringe; wilful damage and two counts of serious assault police officer while armed with a weapon, over alleged incidents on October 21.

As Magistrate Dwyer tried to establish how Santo would plead, the young man began a tirade of abuse by saying 'nah, f--- that' in response.

As Santo's barrister, MrMoore, began arguing his client's case Santo unleashed another outburst calling Mr Moore a 'useless c---'.

When it was clear bail would be denied, Santo screamed: 'Youse are all f---ing scums. I need another lawyer you f---ing maggot."

Santo continued to scream as he was led from the dock back to the watch-house.

He will reappear in court at a later date.
