JUNIOR RUGBY LEAGUE: The junior rugby league season is set to begin on Saturday, with an away game for the Junior Gremlins. Teams will travel to Warwick to take on the Eastern Suburbs across all grades.
All supporters are encouraged to make the trip and cheer on their teams.
Club official Justin Heaven said the whole club is looking forward to another great season.
"It's exciting to see the start of the season is finally upon us, (we're) looking forward to another great year of junior rugby league and providing a fantastic environment for players and families to be part of the Granite Belt sporting community,” he said.
Registrations are still open for any players wishing to join a team this season.
Sign up can be completed online at playnrl.com, or a Gremlins registrar will be at training from 4.45pm today at Sullivan Oval to assist.
Age groups include under-16 boys, under-16 girls league tag, under-14 boys and boys and girls for under-12s to under-7s.
Heaven encouraged any girls who are looking to play league tag or enjoyed playing last year to head along to training.
"Any under-16 girls that enjoyed playing Oz Tag last season are encouraged to come and try ladies league tag with the Junior Gremlins,” he said.
"We need players to make this year successful and continue the great start to this competition the team had last year.
"If you are interested and aged 11 to 16, come and try this great new game, have fun playing a team sport while keeping fit and active.”
League tag training is held Tuesday and Thursdays from 4pm at Sullivan Oval with coach Mark Harris.
Players are asked to talk to their coach at training today for game times for Saturday and to let their coach or manager know if players require a lift.
