ROCKHAMPTON CIB and homicide detectives have made "significant finds" in their search for missing pair Robert Martinez and Chantal Barnett.

SES crews and other authorities on Saturday conducted searches in Bowlin Road, at the gravel-end of Quay St, where they found the items.

The site is the same location where authorities last year found Mr Martinez's car.

Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Moon says he cannot reveal what those items are.

He did say they are very significant items.
