Aussie toddler pulled from bottom of Bali pool, in coma

A THREE-YEAR-OLD found unconscious on the bottom of a swimming pool in Bali has been flown overnight to Perth, while in a coma.

Kawa Sweeney was with her family at the Uluwatu Surf Villas on Sunday morning on holdidays when she was found unconscious at the bottom of the pool.

Her father, an artist, had just finished surfing with Perth orthopedic surgeon Grant Booth who heard the commotion from the beach.

In an incredible stroke of luck Dr Booth performed CPR on Kawa for over an hour and got her heart beating again.

Kauai's parents,  Dee Tang and Desmond Sweeney had travel insurance through their credit card, but that card was recently cancelled - meaning the insurance was cancelled too.

They took to the fundraising page GoFUndMe to rasie the money to pay the astounding $42,000  for a medical flight to get Kawa home.

The GoFundMe page raised more than $75,000 in less than 24 hours. They also face ongoing expenses for her treatment.

Kawa's aunt has now thanked the Perth doctor who revived her and the people who donated money to help bring her home.

"(We're) just so, so incredibly grateful for him and the people around that were able to save her life," Kawa's aunty Christine Walsh said, reports Perth Now.

"There's no words really," Ms Walsh said.

"Just to say thank you, so much,"

"Thank you."

Kawa now remains in an induced coma at Princess Margaret Hospital with her family by her side.

Her mother flew into Perth on Sunday evening with Kawa's little sister.

The family say doctors should be able to tell them if the little girl has suffered any permanent brain damage by Tuesday morning.

The three-year-old will remain in an induced coma for at least the next few days.
