Ashlynn set for showgirl quest
WHILE Ashlynn Ezzy's former show experience has usually involved preparing the horses and spending her pocket money on show bags, she's always glanced at the stylish showgirl entrants and pondered whether one day that could be her.
And come March she could take that crown as this year she takes part in the Warwick Showgirl Quest.
"A few of my friends were telling me to do it, so I thought I'd give it a go," Ashlynn said.
The 18-year-old Warwick girl works at the Horse and Jockey Hotel but spends most of her time practising camp drafting and caring for her horses at Braeside.
"I've been riding my whole life," she said.
"I used to play polocrosse too and do a lot of showing."
As for the skills the bubbly teenager will bring to the role, she said she is always happy and willing to do her best.
Public speaking, however, will be her toughest challenge.
Ashlynn said she had been going to the agricultural shows "forever" and has some fond memories.
"I remember getting up really early and getting the horses ready; trying to stay clean.
"I also remember spending all my money on show bags."
The Warwick Showgirl Quest is being judged on Saturday, March 10.
Entrants must be over 18 years and under 28 years as at August 1 this year.
The Junior Showgirl will be judged on the same day and entrants must be 13 years and under 18 years as at August 1, 2012.
The Show Ball will be held at the Douglas Feez Pavilion, Warwick Showgrounds on Saturday, March 10, commencing at 6.30pm.
Showgirl entrants will be presented to the gathering at 7pm.
Entries close Friday, February 24.
