Arrow starts process to access land for gas pipeline

ARROW Energy is starting a process to buy easement interests in land within the proposed corridor of its pipeline that will bring gas from the Bowen Basin to Gladstone.

The project involves a 428km buried high pressure steel gas pipeline, plus above-ground facilities including main line valves, a gas hub, access tracks, test posts and electricity poles.

Starting at Moranbah, it will be located in state development areas from west of Rockhampton to north-west of Gladstone.

Advertising the move, Arrow said it intended to negotiate with land owners, but if negotiations were unsuccessful it may apply to the Coordinator-General for the pipeline to be declared a private infrastructure facility.

This would mean the Coordinator-General could compulsorily acquire land interests deemed necessary for the project.
