Another trial set for alleged killer of Bronco Todd Parnell
THE third trial of a Bribie Island man accused of killing a promising junior Broncos player with a single punch has been listed to begin on September 4.
Wally James Hung will plead not guilty to the manslaughter of Bribie Island Warrigals star five-eighth and Queensland Cup rugby league player, 22-year-old Todd Parnell.
The incident allegedly happened at Bongaree, on Bribie Island, in July, 2009.
Mr Parnell, also of Bribie Island, was knocked unconscious at a post-game birthday celebration and died in hospital the next day.
Lawyers mentioned the case against MrHung in Brisbane Supreme Court yesterday morning.
Justice Glenn Martin heard there were no pre-trial issues.
Justice Martin questioned whether the matter was a re-trial.
He was told it was the third trial Mr Hung would face.
