Allora rodeo draws top cowboys

SCOTT Keogh has attracted bull riders from as far as Orange to Allora for tonight's show rodeo.

The 7.30pm rodeo is at the Allora Showgrounds as part of the annual show.

The rodeo organiser said Michael Ford would travel from Orange in quest of a win and a free air flight to the United States to compete on the top circuit in the world.

"It is the best 30 I have invited to Allora," Keogh said.

Last year Kyogle rider David Kennedy won the Mt Isa/Warwick double in the Australian Professional Rodeo Association and will take some beating.

Keogh said Brisbane bull rider Jeff Moretto was a strong chance.

"Last year's champion Chris Lowe is coming from Uralla, New South Wales."

Former Warwick place-getters Jim Rowsell, of Boggabilla, and Fraser Babbington, of Brisbane, are two with a chance of making time.

There will be a junior bull ride, steer and poddy rides.
