A HIGH school teacher accused of sending inappropriate messages to a teenage student has made his first appearance before Toowoomba Magistrates Court.
The 34-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, stood quietly beside duty solicitor Sarah Gordon as he was formally charged with two counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16 (indecent film).
He has been suspended from the Toowoomba high school where he worked since his arrest last month.
His is accused of sending inappropriate Snapchats to a 15-year-old girl.
No details of the case were aired in court during the brief mention of the matter.
Ms Gordon, acting on behalf of the man's Brisbane-based legal representatives, told the court she had been instructed to ask for an adjournment and request a full brief of evidence from police.
Magistrate Bruce Schemioneck adjourned the case for mention back in the same court on December 8.
The man remains on bail with strict conditions including having no contact with the complainant child or witnesses and not approaching within 100m of the particular school.
