Woman killed in head-on crash north of Toowoomba

A 69-YEAR-OLD woman was killed in a head-on crash on the D'Aguilar Hwy, east of Yarraman on Sunday afternoon.

Initial information indicates two vehicles travelling in opposite directions collided head-on on the Gilla Bridge about 4pm.

A female driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman's 14-year-old female passenger and the 57-year-old female driver of the second vehicle were taken to Kingaroy Hospital with minor injuries.

The highway was closed for several hours while crews attended the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit has commenced an investigation into the incident.
