School kids get into Rodeo spirit
CLASSY cowgirls, rough cowboys and colourful clowns overtook St Mary’s Primary School yesterday as the pupils draped themselves in Rodeo spirit.
Fabulous Warwick rodeo queens, princesses and tiny tots visited the Upper Campus with cowboys and cowgirls in tow talking all things rodeo.
Year 7 pupil Jack Morrison was one of the winners of the best dressed competitions, his face covered in blue and sporting a classic rodeo clown get up.
Rockhampton roping extraordinaire Cameron Milner was one of the cowboys displaying gear and talking about their events and roped his young mate from Albury Ben Gard as if he was a calf.
St Mary’s pupils witnessed a great show with many winning Rodeo passes for the weekend because of their excellent costumes.
Miss Rodeo Australia Caitlyn McPhee joined the local ladies representing the event at the school and she will be a part of Saturday night’s Grand Entry and will compete in a roping event.
Warwick Rodeo Queen Kate Skinner said the children had been enjoying their visits in the past few days.
“It’s great to get good feedback from the school kids and the cowboys. They love talking about their events,” Miss Skinner said.
