Queens Parks Rangers manager faces losing his job

QUEENS Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey reckons he should keep his job despite a 6-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City that has consigned the club to relegation from the English Premier League.

Needing to win its final three games to have any chance of avoiding the drop to Championship, Ramsey's men were hammered by last year's champions, with Sergio Aguero scoring a hat-trick.

Rangers were promoted through the playoffs last season and Ramsey (pictured), who took over from Harry Redknapp mid-season, said despite the poor season he was excited by what lies ahead.

"I think the future looks bright for QPR apart from dropping its status at this stage of the proceedings," Ramsey told BBC Sport.

"I think I'm capable of doing the job."

The final relegation spot is still to be decided, with Hull City the favourite to go down with QPR and Burnley.

Meanwhile, the race for the final Champions League spot is all but over for Liverpool after a 1-1 draw with champion Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Captain John Terry opened the scoring before his opposite number, Steven Gerrard, playing his last game for the Reds at Chelsea's ground before his move to LA Galaxy, levelled.

Blues fans gave Gerrard a mixed reception. Some held up signs reading 'Caution: Slip Hazard', in relation to his mistake which cost Liverpool a chance at the title last season before giving him a standing ovation when he was substituted.
