"Jedi Council" rape porn ringleader publicly apologises

THE ring-leader of the "Jedi Council" pornography ring of Australian soldiers who secretly filmed and shared their sexual escapades has publicly apologised for his behaviour.

Former Australian Defence Force contractor Hastings Fredrickson, who dubbed himself the "Wolf of Woolloomooloo", was sentenced to 15 months' prison in February for his role in the email porn ring, but was allowed to serve the term in the community.

In speaking out for the first time, he told Channel 7 his actions had destroyed his career and his personal life and said his thoughts were with his victims.

"It was something that we shouldn't have done and, like most things, it just reaches up or started off as a bit of a joke, just spilled over in to something that it shouldn't have," he said.
